Valley Metro Light Rail Expansion to Connect Downtown Mesa

This week, Valley Metro Light Rail opened the new 3.1 mile stretch of service running through Mesa's historic downtown district. As you've seen in our previous two posts about the expansion, Visit Mesa has put together a few day trip itineraries to help you experience all our favorite destinations on the new light rail line highlighting shops with Mesa flair. This post is all about pampering, shopping and taking some time for good conversation with girlfriends. Cheers from downtown Mesa!Light Rail Map - Downtown Extension

8:30 a.m.: Meet up with your friends at the Sycamore/Main Street Park ‘n Ride lot and hop on an east-bound light rail train. Trains arrive every 12 minutes to keep your day moving along. Hop off at the Country Club Drive station and walk one block east to Floating Lotus Yoga Studio.

9 a.m.: Start the day with a 75-minute mindful flow yoga class at Floating Lotus, which boasts over 30 classes per week.

11 a.m.: Refuel after yoga for an early lunch at Sweet Cakes Café, be sure to save room to share a dessert, they were featured on TLC’s Best Food Ever for their pastries and desserts.

1 p.m.: Head over to Mane Obsession, a full-service salon that’s been in downtown Mesa for over 20 years. Our go-to service is their rejuvenating and relaxing pedicure.

2:30 p.m.: A necessary to every girlfriend outing: window shopping. Be sure to hit up Adorn Style Lounge, Blossom Boutique (and salon!) and our favorite, DesignLab by DDG, a retail store dedicated to one-of-a-kind items for your home and great gifts to give to others or purchase for yourself!
