AIDS, with both its physical and emotional complications, haunts the group. The show has been called a "landmark musical” and went on to win the Tony Award in 1996. "Rent” is currently the 8th longest-running musical in Broadway history. Mesa Encore Theatre is proud to be one of the first community theatres in the country to produce “Rent” as production rights were only recently released. Longtime local theatre actor and director now working in NYC, Phllip Fazio, takes the helm. Rent is produced in cooperation with Musical Theatre International.

We will explore the desert from the comfort of the well- manicured Merkle Trail, designed to be barrier-free and offer universal access. The hard-smooth surface of this trail will accommodate wheelchairs and strollers. After completing the hike, kids will receive a Junior Ranger badge. Please bring water and hats. Location: Area 6.

Important Tour Information Tours last approximately 75 minutes. This is a walking tour, so please dress accordingly. Elevators are used several times during the course of the tour. Please let your tour guide know in advance if this presents any challenges. Tours are wheelchair accessible, and wheelchairs are available for your use during the tour. You may request a wheelchair at the Tour Ticket Window prior to the tour. The majority of the tour route is NOT air-conditioned. Please note that backpacks, large bags, and food and drink (except water) are prohibited. Cameras, video cameras and bottled water are permitted. Cell phones and pagers are permitted, providing their use does not interfere with other guests' enjoyment of the tour. The tour does not go on to the playing field. Please allow at least one hour to one hour and fifteen minutes for a complete tour of the campus and wear comfortable walking shoes. No tours will be scheduled on public holidays. Mesa Arts Center will make every effort to visit each of the four theaters and the Art Studios on the first level.
