SCOUT ACTIVITIES AT THE PARK
Register for Scout Day at the Park, Saturday, May 28.
Register for Scout Activities at the Park, Wednesday, May 25 and Saturday, May 28.
Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts ages 13 and under are invited to participate in two days worth of activities that aim toward helping scouts obtain your Sportsman Belt Loop / Patch. In addition to the activities listed below, each participant will receive a commemorative patch and admission to select WAC Baseball Tournament games (games are listed under the schedule of events) at Hohokam Stadium (1235 N. Center Street, Mesa, Ariz.)
Registration deadline is 5p.m. PT on May 2, 2011.
Parents and Scout Leaders: Adult single session tickets can be purchased on the day of the game for $10.
Schedule of events: All activities and games will take place at HoHoKam Stadium
Wednesday, May 25 @ 6p.m. (30-45 minutes)
- Explanation of the rules of baseball by experienced NCAA officials (Cub Scouts Belt Loop Requirement #1)
- Explanation of the rules of base running (Partial Cub Scouts Belt Loop Requirement #2/Cub Scouts Sports Pin Requirement #6)
- Learn the official signals used by umpires (Webelos Activity Badge Requirement #1)
- Discussion on Sportsmanship (Webelos Activity Badge Requirement #2)
- Attend the games at 3p.m. and 7p.m.
Saturday, May 28 @6p.m. (30 - 45 minutes)
- Ground ball and pop up skills demonstration and practice (Partial Cub Scouts Belt Loop Requirement #2/Cub Scouts Sports Pin Requirement #3)
- Throwing skills demonstration and practice relay, overhand and underhand (Cub Scouts Sports Pins Requirement #2)
- Attend the games at 3p.m. and 7p.m. (Cub Scouts Sports Pin Requirement #10)
- Concession coupon for a hot dog and a drink
