One of the most popular day trips for anyone visiting Mesa is up the historic Apache Trail through the mysterious Superstition Mountains and into the foothills of the Tonto Natural Forest - the fifth largest forest in the United States. To this day, the area continues to pay homage to its Western roots which took shape in the late 1800s. On this scenic drive guests will encounter an authentic old west stagecoach stop, a ghost town, the famous Elvis Presley Chapel, and the majesty of a mountain lake, all nestled in the beautiful Sonoran Desert landscape that captures the true essence of

Splash, swim and slide at  Golfland Sunsplash   Waterpark  in Mesa by day...or night! Mesa's very own 20-acre waterpark and entertainment center is full of fun for everyone. One of the more popular water attractions is the giant  Thunder Bay Wavepool . This incredible attraction holds 450,000 gallons of water that is set to a timer, setting swimmers in motion every 12 minutes to a barrage of waves not unlike the Pacific Ocean. Grab a raft and hang on for this wet and wild ride!       Not to be missed is the new Double Dare , a six-story-tall slide that

If you thought catching an Arizona sunset was on the must-do list, try seeing our stars! Mesa's night sky programming is one of the most popular year-round activities for visitors to the Southwest. In Mesa, Arizona's third-largest city, you can get far enough from the bright city lights and open up your eyes to a star-studded sky. Arizona's clear desert skies offer some of the finest viewing conditions in the world for astronomical observations. The Italian astronomer Galileo is credited with pointing the first telescope skyward almost 400 years ago and we've been entranced

Traveling with tots, tweens and teens is a cinch with so many family-focused attractions and hotels in Mesa, Arizona. Whether creating a work of art, panning for gold, or following in the footsteps of dinosaurs, Mesa offers an enriching experience for families vacationing this summer. The city has been recognized not once but twice as a "Playful City USA" by KaBoom!, the national non-profit organization dedicated to bringing play into children's lives. Such distinctions bode well for travelers seeking out unique and different ways to keep children entertained and engaged on

Queen Creek Olive Mill

If you are looking for a day trip out of the city I highly suggest visiting the Queen Creek Olive Mill! This past week I had the opportunity to visit the mill on a media tour. This boutique establishment has an assortment of flavored olive oils that range from garlic, chili, and bacon to vanilla bean and chocolate. Not to mention they also produce specialty infused vinegars such as Pomegranate, White and Fig Balsamic Vinegar. We started our visit with a delicious Caramel Latte from Superstition Coffee. Superstition Coffee is new to the mill and is an excellent addition. After we got our coffee

We love Pinterest!

Have you heard of the new craze, Pinterest? It is very addicting for those “pinning” craft ideas, home décor, planning weddings, and book marking places they would like to visit, and things they want to see. It is like scrapbooking, only virtual. So Visit Mesa thought that we would create our own Pinterest account and be part of the action. After all, a picture says a thousand words and we have plenty of them and plenty to say about Mesa! We want to help people decide where to visit, use our tourism bureau as a fun resource while planning their trip, and connect with us
