Stop #1: Schnepf Farms

Did you know that Schnepf Farms is the largest organic peach grower in Arizona? Voted “Best U-Pick Farm” in both 2012 and 2013 by Phoenix New Times, this fourth generation family farm is not just a festival or event farm, they are truly a farm where you can come and experience Arizona agriculture at its finest. Whether you want to shop the farm store or stop in to pick veggies in the u-pick garden, make an adventure out of your day trip when you visit! Farm dining includes fresh baked pies and cinnamon rolls, homemade fudge, and a variety of jams and preserves.

Do you like the idea of camping but don't necessarily want all of the outdoor responsibilities that come with it? Then you should try glamping at Schnepf Farms! The Cozy Peach trailers are renovated, vintage airstreams that provide guests with the perfect getaway, offering both a cozy and relaxing camping experience. Each trailer is unique and has it's own personal style to it. The trailers include a television, microwave, refrigerator, plush bedding and a fully landscaped front yard with grass, a patio and outdoor seating. Take camping to a whole different level next time you're in town!

Stop #2: Queen Creek Olive Mill

Arizona's only working olive farm and mill creates a truly unique dining experience. With around 6,000 olive trees, olives are grown and pressed for the production of high quality extra virgin olive oil. The most popular site at the mill is the Tuscany-inspired olive grove with more than 100 trees showcasing the variety of olives grown and harvested in Arizona. Enjoy their Italian inspired eatery made from local and garden-sourced ingredients that features fresh gourmet sandwiches, soups, salads, gelato and espresso. Guests can then take the Olive Oil 101 Tour and learn first-hand how olives are pressed.

Stop #3: Hayden Flour Mills at Sossaman Farm

Taste a little bit of Arizona history when you visit the Mill! Sossaman Farm grows acres of different heritage grains, including White Sonoran wheat, ancient barley, buckwheat and others, which are then milled by America’s first solar powered mill, Hayden Flour Mills. Dive into the full culinary experience that starts with a tour of the Hayden flour milling operation then participate in baking classes and educational seminars, see website for details and ordering products.

Stop #4: Steadfast Farm

Located at Eastmark, Steadfast Farm is Mesa’s newest Fresh Foodie Trail offering. This two-acre bio-intensive market farm grows certified organic fruits, vegetables and flowers, and raises pastured poultry for eggs year-round. The farm prides itself in focusing on honest organic farming practices. Check out the Farm Store and stock up on your produce when you visit the farm!

Stop #5: Agritopia

Agritopia is a thriving, sustainable community centered around an urban farm. The design of Agritopia is intended to breakdown traditional barriers and encourage formation of real community among people of varied backgrounds. Located within the community is Joe's Farm Grill - a 60's era mid-century modern diner that was originally the Johnston family's ranch-style home (also featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives). Adjacent from the Farm Grill, is The Coffee shop and Barnone: a craftsman community.

Barnone is a community for skilled craftsmen to make and sell their handcrafted goods. Here, visitors will find twelve of Arizona's best makers, ranging from woodworkers to experimental winemakers, restaurateurs and more. When you explore Barnone, keep any eye out for these artisan businesses: Uprooted Kitchen (plant-based eatery), Fire & Brimstone (wood-fired cookery), 12 West Brewing (nano-brewery), Garage East (winery and experimentation in fermentation). In Addition, the Barnone also has two machine shops, a salon, woodworking, letterpress, and the Farm Store that sells the produce from the farm.
