The day of watermelon, corn on the cob, BBQs, picnics, friends, family and fireworks is here. Come celebrate America’s Independence Day with Mesa at the annual Arizona Celebration of Freedom event. Bring your family and friends and enjoy a car show, musical performances, food and fireworks!
This annual Fourth of July celebration takes place at the Mesa Convention Center and Mesa Amphitheatre Saturday, July 4 from 6 - 10:30 p.m.
Admission and parking are free, although there may be a fee for some of the activities within the event.
Enjoy and All-American dinner including watermelon, hot dogs, and other BBQ favorites, plus you can even pick-up a beer at the event. Picnics and personal coolers are also welcome, just be sure to check and make sure your cooler is no larger than 26” long x 16” wide x 16” high.
Kids will have a blast at the celebration with inflatable water slides and face painting stations. Don’t forget to stop by the vintage car show and check out the live performances and programs, one of which being a reenactment of the revolutionary war.
There will also be a recognition of veterans and their families in “A Hero’s Welcome,” so nominate a veteran you know to the City of Mesa so the city can show them their appreciation. (The email to send nominations is listed on the website.)
Finish up your night by sitting on a blanket on the lawn and watching the firework show at 9:45 p.m.
