Calling all peach lovers! This weekend, (Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th) the largest peach farm in the state of Arizona celebrates its 20th Annual Peach Festival at Schnepf Farms. It all started 50 years ago when Ray and Thora Schnepf moved to the unincorporated desert community called Rittenhouse, better known as Queen Creek, and saw hope for desert agriculture. They realized the sandy Arizona soil was perfect for growing peaches and other crops, and it wasn't shortly after, the establishment of Schnepf Farms began. What started with a pancake breakfast on a little home griddle transformed into one of the Valley's most popular festivals. Over the years, the griddle grew, along with the crowds, activities and events.
Bring your friends and family to enjoy over 300 acres of "U-PICK" peaches and endless amounts of fun. We hope you have a sweet tooth, because you won't want to miss the Fresh from the Farm Bakery. Here's just a short list of some of the goodies you will see:
• peach pie
• peach cobbler
• peach pancakes
• peach cinnamon rolls
• peach cookies
With so much to see and do, give those feet a rest and catch a ride by hay, train, or carousel around the farm. Hope you come hungry, there will also be peach sampling at the Pavilion with food ranging from sweets to salsas. For the little ones, they may need an extra pair of clothes if they want to participate in the water activities. Other activities include; peachy arts and crafts booths. Make sure to share your peachy photos with @visitmesa and @schnepf_farms.
*Note: Schnepf Farm proudly brings to you 100% organic and pesticide-free peaches.
