MCC Rose Garden: The Mesa Community College rose garden is the place you’ll find “where roses bloom in the desert.” The rose garden is one of the biggest in the country, home to more than 10,000+ rose bushes. One can’t imagine a better place to relax and recuperate in nature’s surroundings. Luckily for you, the Rose Garden will be offering free tours every weekend starting March 13th, and ending May 1st.
Planetarium: Interested in the scientific side of life? Been thinking about what lies beyond our atmosphere? Those with a penchant for the astronomical will be happy to learn that the Mesa Community College invites the public for free “Astronomy Nights” in the Planetarium on the first Friday night of every month. Desert Botanical Garden: This Arizona favorite opens for free on the second Tuesdays of the spring months from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Take advantage of this and learn more about the gorgeous, unmatched Arizona desert botany that Mesa visitors will find absolutely breathtaking.
Mesa Contemporary Museum: For those artistic visitors with a flair for the modern, the always-free Mesa Contemporary Museum in the Mesa Arts Center provides the perfect free afternoon. Through five stunning galleries, visitors can expect their minds to be stimulated and their ideas challenged by the collections of modern art.
Downtown Mesa Festival of the Arts: The Downtown Mesa Festival of the Arts, runs on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays from October to April. It is a free event featuring unique artist creations, music, opportunities to meet local makers. The Festival features the work of established and emerging artists and crafters including woodworking, metal crafts, food items, jewelry, photography, handmade soaps, and gift items are among the items offered by locals.
2nd Friday Night Out in Downtown Mesa: Mesa downtown galleries and businesses have joined together to create an exciting and friendly way to spend a Friday evening! Art, dining, shopping, activities, entertainment, and fun every 2nd Friday of the month! And it's free!
