  1. The Historic Mining Camp Restaurant

Get a taste of true cowboy family-style cooking! Since 1961, the Mining Camp Restaurant has been serving up mesquite wood-smoked meats to those looking to taste Arizona’s past. Dig into barbecue ribs, roasted ham and chicken, including all the fixings! The homestyle cooking pairs great with live country music by the Amazing McNasty Brothers that’s worthy of hand-clapping and foot-stomping.  (Location closed July 2017 due to fire)


  1. Rawhide Western Town

Go back in time to the 1880s and experience authentic Western ambiance including a live action stunt shown by the Arizona Roughriders in the Six Gun Theater! Experience the history yourself with an adventurous ride on the Butterfield Stagecoach or by perusing the unique shops on the Main Street of this Western town.


  1. Superstition Mountain Museum

Want to learn more about the Wild West’s rich history? The Superstition Mountain Museum is the perfect place to explore artifacts, history and folklore of the Superstition Mountains. If you’re into old Western movies, you won’t want to miss the “Elvis Chapel,” a movie memorabilia museum for movies filmed in Apacheland.

Travel in cowboy style on horseback with Fort McDowell Adventures. While you’re high in the saddle, you’re apt to see eagles, roadrunners, coyotes, mustangs, huge cacti and other wild things that call the Sonoran Desert home.


  1. Goldfield Ghost Town

For more than 115 years, Goldfield Ghost Town has welcomed travelers from all over the world to discover the charm and history of this authentic gold mining town. In its heyday, Goldfield was a busy bustling little outpost perched atop a small hill between the mighty Superstition Mountains to the east and the Goldfield Mountains to the west. Today, you can walk down Main Street and explore the many shops and historic buildings.
