From changing diapers, to wiping tears, to playing games, to cracking jokes, he’s been there through it all. What can you do to celebrate dad on his special day? Here at Visit Mesa we found some fun ways to make Father’s Day 2015 extra special. We've worked hard to take the guess work out of planning a day with dad by finding all our partner’s that dads love!
Buy dad a drink!
Take him out and experience some of Mesa’s craft breweries. Here are two top picks for beer tastings. If you’re already making dinner at home for dad, pick-up a growler of local-made beer at these breweries, too!
The Beer Institute was started by long-time friends who have taken their beer to the scientific-level with a decade of beer research under their belts. The brewery offers a rotating line-up of small-batch, hand-crafted beers with a focus on Belgian ales and west coast style ales. They’ve got a full service kitchen as well, featuring tacos, burgers and our favorite item on the menu: Siracha-candied bacon.
Our on-draft pick: the Vanilla Porter, featuring freshly sliced vanilla beans into the beer during fermentation. Hours, menu and more about their story HERE.
Another option for dad is Desert Eagle Brewing Company, located in the heart of downtown Mesa on Main Street. Serving up German style brews since 2011, Desert Eagle pours a rare Dunkelweizen beer, a rich dark beer with the same banana and cloves notes as its little sister beer, the hefeweizen. Hours, menu and live entertainment calendar HERE.
Dinner with Dad
Instead of making dad BBQ his own special dinner, take him to a local Mesa restaurant to enjoy quality food and family time.
Dinner with a view at Las Sendas Grille & Patio. This year's Dad's Steak Dinner Special includes a 14 oz. Ribeye steak, smoked potatoes, pickled onion rings and corn on the cob for $24.95 per person. The dinner special includes 1 Free Draft Beer or soft drink.
Treat dad to a dinner he’ll remember by bringing him to Rustler’s Rooste where they’re offering a Father’s Day Special. This restaurant is the epitome of a cowboy experience, complete with fried rattlesnake on the menu. Call to reserve a spot and enjoy smoked beef brisket and sausage.
If your dad isn’t a cowboy at heart, try Zinburger. Their Angus burger with Applewood Smoked Bacon, Spicy Green Chili fries, Nutella Hazelnut Crunch milkshake and perfectly paired wine selections will be hard to beat.
Let Dad Play
Want an activity that is fun for dad and the whole family? Try Gilbert’s new Top Golf or a Mesa’s Bass Pro Shop.
The idea of Top Golf was created by two brothers 15 years ago, when they decided to change up the driving range experience. Not only does it help improve your golf skill, but it also includes a new level of competition. Bring the whole family to Top Golf to celebrate dad!
Whether needing a day out or a place to get a gift for dad, Bass Pro Shops may be just what you need. This #1 outdoor gear retailer, according to Sporting Goods Magazine, offers a freshwater aquarium, outdoor gear and workshops.
What else do you have planned for Father’s Day? We’d love to hear other creative ways you’re celebrating in Mesa! Cheers to dads everywhere from Visit Mesa!
