Join the Arizona Territory Gourd Society for the 20th Annual Veterans Day Gourd Dance on November 11, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Pueblo Grande Museum.
This annual event held at the museum, honors the memory of all the men and women who have served our nation. As a Native American Recognition Days event, this occasion offers a unique chance for everyone, in addition to veterans, to enjoy a Native American ceremonial dance, art, and culture at a preserved prehistoric site once inhabited by the Ancestral Sonoran Desert People (Hohokam).
Gourd dancing is conducted by the Arizona Territory Gourd Society, a non-profit group of American Indian United States War Veterans and their families who celebrate and support the local Arizona veteran community.
This event is free and open to the public, sponsored in part by the Pueblo Grande Museum Auxiliary. In honor of the Veterans Day holiday, museum admission is free from 9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
