The fun, inspiring, and educational hands-on art museum for children and families traveling to Mesa, Arizona. Their museum includes popular art and art-inspired activities, while adding science, engineering and design-thinking in the multi-sensory experiences provided with an increased use of technology to support these offerings and even more opportunities for families to create together.


My Favorite Monster – June 16 thru Sept. 10, 2017

Through fun art and hands-on activities, will look at the popularity of these imaginative creatures in media and their role in storytelling, as well as cultural and historical aspects of monsters in our society. Planned activities for children of all ages include: Creating their own whimsical monster art; Dressing up as goofy monsters; Playing monstrous games; Making a monster movie; Creating shadow monsters; Building 3D creatures in the museum’s monster lab; Being part of a monster dance party (green screen activity)

Blue Star Museum Program - i.d.e.a. Museum Participates

The i.d.e.a. Museum for the sixth year in a row will provide free admission to active-duty military families in the summer via the Blue Star Museums program. Blue Star Museums is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums nationwide.

The Blue Star Museum program offers free admission for active duty military personnel and up to five members of their family between Memorial Day and Labor Day. *The free admission program is available to any bearer of a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), a DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card, which includes active duty U.S. military - Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, as well as members of the National Guard and Reserve, U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps - and up to five family members. - See more at:
