Bring your favorite veteran to the museum on this important day of appreciation to all veterans past and present. Amid exhibits covering 100 years of military aviation discover inspiring stories of service to country. The East Valley's top-rated museum also features historic aircraft and living history flights. Docent Bill Querhn will also give an educational presentation at 11 am which is free with regular admission. Includes ceremony with partner organization Army Aviation Heritage Foundation AZ Chapter and additional Huey helicopter. We are a Blue Star Museum -- active duty military are admitted free.
Did you know the British sent young men to Arizona for basic pilot training in WWII? After they got their 'wings' many went to Canada for their advanced training before being sent into combat in Europe or Asia. Learn about the history of Falcon Field, which was established by British in 1941 and its rich historic legacy of military aviation. All inclusive with regular museum admission.
Saturday, November 14th Find out how the British set up a pilot and aircrew training program at Falcon Field in 1941 and the warm welcome they received from Mesa residents. Attend the 2pm Speakers Series Event.
Sunday, November 15th RAF Cadet Memorial – Join us at Mesa Cemetery to honor 23 young men who perished in training mishaps at Falcon Field during WWII and never went home to Britain. Warbird flyover. This event is being held offsite at 1212 N Center St, 85201
