Armani Williams' Debut in Arizona

As the 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series comes to an end, Armani Williams will be making his debut at the Phoenix Raceway in Arizona on November 4.

Armani Williams is the first NASCAR driver that is openly diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Since his series debut at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway in August of 2021, he has proven to be nothing short of outstanding. He finished 21st and earned his speedway license in NASCAR competition, paving the way for his NASCAR career. In late July, he returned to competition in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with Reaume Brothers Racing.

Throughout the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, Williams has been joined with his co-partners IceCOLD Technology and The Doug Flutie Foundation for Autism Inc.

For starters, IceCOLD Technology LLC. is the manufacturer of the IceCOLD® synthetic catalyst. This is an environmentally friendly green energy efficiency product, made for all types of HVAC and refrigeration in an assortment of applications.

Additionally, The Doug Flutie Foundation for Autism Inc. is a foundation that was started in 1998 after former NFL Quarterback, Doug Flutie, and his wife Laurie discovered that their son, Dougie, was diagnosed with autism at the age of three. As the Flutie family experienced the challenges of raising a son on the autism spectrum, the foundation works to help others on a similarly challenging journey.

The Flutie Foundation works to provide clinical therapies, respite services, recreational programs, social skills training, job support and more for people affected by autism. The Doug Flutie Foundation has partnered with Williams in hopes of supporting his career goals through the Flutie Fellow ambassadorship program.

Our team at Visit Mesa finds Williams’ story inspiring and recognizes his accomplishments, as they align with the efforts of the Mesa community to enhance and implement equity, diversity and inclusion for youth and adults in the Mesa Community. Visit Mesa helped establish the Mesa Regional Foundation for Accessibility, Diversity & Inclusion in order to implement these standards and has since been deemed the first Autism-Certified city in the United States.

The Visit Mesa team will be working closely with Armani Williams as he closes out the 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season at Phoenix Raceway on November 4. Aside from Visit Mesa’s support, Williams will also be included on in-market visits, video messages and various foundation program projects.

Visit Mesa’s Alison Brooks, Director of Destination Experience & Advocacy says, “We are in awe of Armani’s passion to drive action and hope for those with autism. He is the ideal partner to help Mesa become known as a destination for people of all abilities and honor our creed of ‘City Limitless.’”
