Celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week in Mesa
Learn about National Travel & Tourism Week this May 1-7, 2022, and learn about how you can contribute to the growth of Mesa.
National Travel & Tourism Week is May 1-7 and promotes the future of travel, a critical industry that is an important part of the U.S. economy. Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the travel and tourism industry generated $2.6 trillion in economic impact for the country. This industry supported 17 million jobs and delivered a $51 billion trade surplus to the U.S.
Travel is more important now than ever, as it allows us to create and rebuild American jobs. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Leisure & Hospitality employment has dropped 9%. The city of Mesa attracts 4.5 million visitors a year from all over the world, with 1.2 million of them staying overnight in Mesa hotels. Businesses all over Mesa benefit from your visit to the city, because a demand in tourism will generate more jobs.
That's why here in Mesa and across America, we're using NTTW to support our businesses all over the city and reimagine the industry to be greater than ever before. During NTTW, Visit Mesa will be emphasizing the city as an oasis in the desert and highlighting all the water activities to participate in the middle of the desert.
From the Salt River to Saguaro Lake, Mesa's natural landscapes is one of the main reasons people from all over the world visit and support the local economy. From all of us at Visit Mesa, we're excited for the future of travel and the future of Mesa!
