For the Love of Mesa – Celebrate National Travel & Tourism Week May 7-13
“People don’t take trips, trips take people…”
The art of getting away from it all, escaping the everyday, is a vital necessity to balance out the hurried pace and hustle and bustle of a busy life. We can’t help but dream about far off places and all those treasures that await us when we travel. New foods, cultures and traditions and all those unspoken full-sensory connections that we soak up with fervor. We plan travel, anticipate the new experiences that lie ahead, and then before you know it we are there. Off on a new adventure and filled with a renewed sense of spirit and awakening, knowing full well these moments are short lived but oh so important to our well-being. That’s what travel is all about, why we can’t ignore the value of a much-needed, well deserved escape.
Vacations matter.
For 4.4 million visitors annually, Mesa, Arizona is a dream destination. We are their happy place. Research shows that visitors love our sunsets, our diverse options for exploration, our access to water, water and yes, more water. They love our hills, our eclectic downtown, our ‘only in Mesa’ local businesses that welcome them year after year with a warm smile and an even warmer heart. While we had to collectively press pause earlier this year on all these feelings, that doesn’t mean we can’t still daydream of better times when we all find our ‘next normal’ and get back to sharing our city’s many riches.
Visit Mesa is joining the nation’s visitor industry, led by the U.S. Travel Association, in sharing the Spirit of Travel for National Travel & Tourism Week. All week long (May 7-13) we will serve up travel inspiration for all our visitors (and residents!) and aid in planning the most epic vacation!
