Overview

The Magic of Mexican Artistry weekend highlights the amazing artistry of our friends at Mata Ortiz and Oaxacan artistry. This year, we are excited to spotlight weaver Porfirio Gutiérrez, a Zapotec-American artist based in Ventura, California. He uses traditional Zapotec technology of pigments and materials and redefines Zapotec weaving language to create works that communicate contemporary experiences. From 9am-4pm, you can learn from these amazing artists, and go home with some beautiful works, available for purchase. Find local food and drink to make a day of it here at the museum. This is a FREE event.
