Mesa to Host Two NCAA Baseball Championships, Welcoming the Mountain West for the First Time and the Return of the Western Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament
Two NCAA Division I baseball championships will take place the same week in Mesa.
MESA, Ariz. (May 14, 2025) – Mesa, Arizona, is set to host not one, but two major NCAA Division I conference championships during the same week. Both collegiate events will take place at the city’s top-tier Cactus League spring training venues—Sloan Park, home of the Chicago Cubs, and Hohokam Stadium, home to the Athletics.
In partnership with the Arizona Sports and Entertainment Commission, Mesa will hold the 2025 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Baseball Championship on May 21–24 at Sloan Park, marking the first time the tournament has ever been hosted in Arizona.
Meanwhile, the 2025 Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Tournament will return to Hohokam Stadium the same week, welcoming student athletes from around the country. Both events are ticketed and open to the public.
