Mesa, Arizona has a long tradition of hosting the Annual East Valley Veteran's Day Parade in downtown Mesa.
Are you looking for ways to celebrate the men and women who have served in the armed forces this Veterans Day? You’re in luck because we’re going to showcase what you can do around Mesa to honor and celebrate those who have served.
To start your Veterans Day off right, head over to Superstition Coffee inside the Queen Creek Olive Mill and support a veteran-owned business. This coffee roaster is family owned and operated by a husband and wife plus their two sons who are both veterans. Superstition Coffee is known for its small batch, fresh roasted coffee. You’re sure to enjoy this unique coffee experience.
East Valley Veterans Day Parade
Come experience the highlight of Veterans Day in the East Valley. Taking place in downtown Mesa on Veterans Day, this free parade showcases over 100 entries including military vehicles, WWII tanks, the Fallen Soldier Memorial, USS Arizona replica, Junior ROTC groups, military support groups, Mesa and Gilbert high school marching bands, East Valley city and town dignitaries, Girl and Boy Scout Troops, equestrian groups and much more.
If you want great access to the parade, stay at the Delta by Marriott right in downtown Mesa which is just steps away from the light rail, providing excellent access to the city for your Veterans Day plans.
Looking for an afternoon the whole family can enjoy? Head over to the Commemorative Air Force Museum and learn about the rich history of Falcon Field and the part it played for both British and American airmen in WWII at their Royal Air Force Weekend and Veteran's Day event, November 9-11!
Veteran's Day Full Moon Hike
Head to Usery Mountain Regional Park for this 2-mile hike under the glowing light of the full moon! This is a great opportunity to experience new sights and sounds of the desert at night. Bring your sense of adventure on this interpretive hike with a park ranger. As a token of appreciation, the $7 per vehicle park entry fee will be waived for all active and non-active military personnel. Please bring a flashlight, water, and closed-toe shoes. No pets, please. Meet at Trailhead Staging.
