Explore Mesa's Expanding Beer and Coffee Scenes
Mesa welcomes 12 West Brewing’s new taproom and lounge, named after its location, 12 West Main Street in downtown Mesa. The former event venue is now a taproom, cocktail bar, and restaurant, a concept that Mesa native and brewery founder Bryan McCormick has envisioned since purchasing the building since the early 2000s.
12 West Brewing Mesa is set to open on New Year’s Eve, giving guests a new reason to head to Main Street for craft beers, classic cocktails, food, and an extensive list of to-go items. Whether seeking a relaxing space for a family dinner, or a spot at the bar to enjoy a cocktail or craft beer, or making a stop on the way home to get some 12 West beers to go, it can all be found here. With his latest concept, McCormick can create the community space he envisioned years ago, with a full kitchen and a creative, passionate staff to make every guest feel welcome from the moment they walk through the doors.
Open at 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, 12 West Brewing Mesa will feature their own craft beers and collaboration beers from Arizona breweries such as the Augustus Goop Cacao Nib Hazy IPA, made with Grand Canyon Brewing; classic cocktails like the Old Fashioned, made with Four Roses Bourbon and Angostura bitters; and cocktails made from spirits created at local distilleries like Arizona Distilling Company and Grand Canyon Brewing & Distilling.
Diners can enjoy a variety of small plates and items such as the Bretzel, a Bavarian pretzel served with beer cheese made with 12 West’s Wheat Beer; a Katsu Chicken sandwich, a Japanese-style of fried chicken, topped with Asian slaw; salads, and flatbreads. Chef David Linville focuses on fresh, whole foods, and every element of every dish is prepared in-house, with a focus on sourcing ingredients locally.
12 West Brewing’s mantra “crafted for the community,” holds true as they make excellent use of local ingredients, from blood oranges picked from trees at Agritopia and a blend for their coffee stout from Spirit Mountain Coffee in Mesa. 12 West Brewing in Mesa aims to provide guests with a new concept that combines a taproom, cocktail bar, full kitchen, and takeout service, which includes beer, wine, spirits, and food in one location on Main Street in Mesa.
