Job-Specific Responsibilities:
It is the responsibility of the Pizza Chef to ensure all menu items and prepared foods are consistently prepared and served according to the eatery recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards as per the approved recipe book, ensuring that proper food holding and refrigeration temperature control points are maintained. These include all catering items, desserts, sandwiches, purchased prepared foods, specials, etc.
Checklists that involve opening, closing, and daily operational activities are paramount and must be followed and logged. Head associates are responsible for following and carrying out all approved checklist activities.

The Pizza Chef participates in or oversees the preparation of various Pizzas and toppings, including other food items for cooking in ovens and pizza ovens.
Assumes 100% responsibility for the quality of products served
Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, published recipes and specials, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures and ensures that his/her subordinates follow policy.
Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure an efficient service period.
Portions of food products before cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
Responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitized prep area.
Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes
FIFO (first in, first out) - handle, store, and rotate all products properly
Ensure all food is properly labeled and dated
Assists in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed
Continually observe, direct, and assist staff where necessary during their shift taking thorough notice of store opening, closing, and operational procedures
Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Management
Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to Kitchen Management
Inform the Kitchen Management immediately of product shortages
Recognize, suggest, and implement opportunities to improve profitability through creative merchandising and preparation techniques
Responsible for food cost control and usage through proper requisition of products from storage areas, product storage procedures, standard recipes, and waste control procedures
May be asked to personally greet and speak with customers to evaluate café service and offerings or solve customer service-related issues.
Inspects the kitchen and all serving areas to ensure proper hygiene and safety standards are strictly adhered to
Understand and help maintain, and provide suggestions for, the continuous improvement of QCOM's Food and Beverage operations.
Perform inventory-related activities
Labels and dates all products in the display area, walk-in, and freezer area
Proper handwashing techniques and glove wearing
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
Possess an up-to-date food handler permit and credentials for the county in which he/she is employed
Be able to cope with the stress of seasonal sales activity and hours
Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
Time Management: work with employees, customers, and management, create schedules, order supplies, and write reports. Time management is essential to make sure everything gets done
Math and Budgeting: Develop and maintain budgetary responsibilities. You will need to be confident in using math skills to make sure you know where your company's money is going
Analytical Skills: You will also need analytical skills to be able to solve problems that may come up during a typical workday
Be able to communicate with and understand the predominant languages of customers and staff
Excellent critical thinking & decision-making skills
Customer Service Skills: How you interact with customers is crucial for repeat business, employee morale, and your company's health. Excellent customer service skills will help you solve issues before they become problems and help foster customer loyalty
