Visit Mesa Achieves Prestigious DMAP Re-Certification and Celebrates Major Wins in 2025 Arizona Travel Awards
Visit Mesa continues to demonstrate excellence, professionalism and leadership in destination management.
For Immediate Release
MESA, Ariz. (June 16, 2025) – Visit Mesa is proud to announce it has successfully achieved Destination Marketing Accredited Program (DMAP) accreditation through Destinations International, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to excellence, transparency and leadership in the travel industry.
According to Destinations International, the certification establishes clear standards of excellence in destination marketing and management. Achieving DMAP accreditation signals to stakeholders and partners that an organization is highly accountable, professionally governed and aligned with top industry best practices.
Visit Mesa began the comprehensive accreditation process in the summer of 2024 and was thoroughly evaluated for its internal operations—from sales and marketing practices to board governance and financial policies and more. Visit Mesa’s achievement will be recognized at Destinations International’s Annual Convention in Chicago on July 9, 2025.
“This milestone for Visit Mesa signifies the dedication and integrity in which we operate every day,” said Marc Garcia, president and CEO of Visit Mesa. “Our re-certification reflects our team's commitment to excellence in destination marketing and our responsibility to the Mesa community and our industry partners. We’re proud to be held to the highest standards and will continue to lead with professionalism.”
In addition to this milestone, Visit Mesa is celebrating another major achievement—being named Best Destination Social Media Account in PHOENIX Magazine's 2025 Arizona Travel Awards. This recognition honors Visit Mesa’s engaging and creative content that showcases the city’s authentic experiences.
Three other Mesa attractions were recognized in this year’s Arizona Travel Awards. These include Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch (Unique Lodging), idea Museum (Museum) and the Salt River Wild Horses (Iconic Tourist Attraction). The full feature will appear in the July/August "Best of the Valley" issue of PHOENIX Magazine, and the complete list of winners can be viewed at arizonatravelawards.com.
