At approximately 120,000 acres, Maricopa County is home to 10 parks and is one of the largest regional park systems in the United States.
The city of Mesa consists of 200+ parks (including 133 basins) covering more than 2,000 acres throughout the city (use interactive map locator). Two of those parks (Countryside and Quail Run) are Dog Parks, with designated off leash dog areas. City of Mesa Parks and Recreation Department
All trails within the Maricopa County Park System are for non-motorized use only. Usery Mountain Regional Park is located within Mesa and offers exemplary views of the metro area.
Within close proximity to Mesa are two other amazing parks for exploration: Boyce Thompson Arboretum and Lost Dutchman State Park.
