Mesa is the Major League Baseball spring training home of the Chicago Cubs and Oakland A’s and thousands of visitors head here every March to cheer on their favorite team. Mesa has more than 40 golf courses and hosts numerous collegiate and professional sporting events including WAC Baseball, NCAA & NJCAA National Championships, and USA Swimming international events just to name a few. There are many ways to sweat in Mesa, too! Head out on a Harley Davidson chopper or a guided off-road adventure through the Sonoran Desert. Hike and bike through the mysterious Superstition Mountains and into the foothills of the Tonto National Forest – the fifth largest forest in the United States.

WRIGLEYVILLE WEST: TOUR CHICAGO CUBS’ SLOAN PARK - 2 hours

Between the 15,000-seat ballpark and 7 practice fields, Chicago Cubs fans will be closer than ever to the Spring Training action in Mesa. Located on what was once a golf course, recycled sod and replanted trees were used throughout the 140-acre complex. Visitors can enjoy the new Mesa Riverview Park and the new Sheraton Mesa Hotel with great dining inside for all baseball fans.

TEE OFF AT 40+ GOLF COURSES

Whether you’re a pro or just learning how to perfect your swing, hit the links in Mesa for some of the best golf in the Southwest. Mesa is home to world-renowned golf featuring breathtaking views of sweeping vistas set against the natural beauty of rugged mountains and blue western skies. And, with near perfect weather it’s possible to enjoy the sport year-round. More than 40 golf courses are within a half-hour drive of downtown offering a variety of options from challenging desert golf to traditional links play.

HORSEBACK RIDING AT FORT MCDOWELL ADVENTURES – 2 hours

This guided tour horseback ride leads visitors along the Verde River, a preservation site for bald eagles, wild mustangs and other Arizona wildlife. Cattle drive adventures are also available.

TAKE YOUR SWING AT TOPGOLF - 2 hours

In neighboring Gilbert, TopGolf is the latest experience for fans. This 65,000-squarefoot facility features target-style golf on three different levels with climate-controlled hitting bays and a multi-color lighted golf range. Players will enjoy incredible food and signature cocktails paired with more than 230 high-definition flat-screen TVs, pool tables, video games and more.

QUEEN CREEK HORSESHOE PARK & EQUESTRIAN CENTER – 2 hours

This state-of-the-art equestrian facility serves as a venue for incredible equestrian events year-round such as Western and English riding competitions, car shows, concerts and festivals. Horseback riding is available along the Sonoqui Wash trail featuring lush Sonoran Desert landscapes and scenery. Visitors love the annual Roots N’ Boots rodeo and family festival every March. Professional ropers and riders show off their skills at this long-standing rodeo.

TEAM UP AND GET LOCKED UP - 1 1/2 hours
