Mesa Marathon Weekend: Where to Eat, Drink & Explore in Mesa
The Mesa Marathon returns Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, bringing thousands of runners to City Limitless for one of Arizona's premier racing events. Whether you're lacing up for the full marathon, half marathon, 10K or cheering from the sidelines, Mesa's dining scene and outdoor adventures make race weekend an unforgettable experience beyond the finish line. Here is our recommendation for pre, during and post race fun!
Pre-Marathon: The night before the run
Carb load like a champion the night before your big race in Mesa! The night before calls for a strategic meal that satisfies your taste buds while fueling your body. Mesa's restaurants deliver the perfect combination of flavor and performance-ready nutrition.
During the Marathon: Fuel for the Fans
While runners tackle the course, spectators need their own fuel to keep energy high during those crucial cheering moments. Mesa's downtown coffee scene offers the perfect combination of locally roasted brews, light bites and convenient locations near the race route. Jarrod's Coffee, Tea & Gallery features locally crafted beverages alongside a stunning showcase of art from Mesa creatives, making it perfect for grabbing a latte and pastry before staking out your cheering spot. The Organic Bean Cafe, tucked away off Main Street along the Greenbelt, serves 100% organic, locally roasted, fair trade coffee with gluten-free, vegan and keto alternatives. The Nile Coffee Shop, housed inside a 1920s theater, offers a 100% vegan menu with sweet treats, salads and sandwiches. Renegade Coffee provides a relaxed environment with locally roasted coffee, kombucha, Red Bull infusions and smoothies for spectators who want options beyond traditional coffee. Spectators can find delicious French pastries at Elysian Fields Magic, closer in distance to the start of the race.
Post-Marathon Celebration: Downtown Mesa
After crossing the finish line at Riverview Park, it's time to celebrate and downtown Mesa's brewery scene delivers the perfect victory lap. The walkable Main Street corridor pulses with energy as runners hop between craft taprooms and lively patios. 12 West Brewing anchors the celebration with rotating craft beers, signature cocktails like the Butterfly Effect, and a buzzing multi-level patio. Pedal Haus Biergarten brings 22 craft beers on tap in a former auto body shop, and is a perfect place for patio-goers to soak up the warm Arizona air. Cider Corps, the veteran-owned Arizona cidery, pours award-winning ciders. Espiritu Cocktails and Comida turns up the heat with mezcal drinks that arrive with live flames. Rebel Wine Lounge offers sophisticated wines in an elegant space, while Level One Arcade Bar adds retro fun with cold beers and classic games. Whether you're toasting with craft beer, cider, wine or cocktails, downtown Mesa's electric atmosphere ensures every finisher finds their perfect celebration spot.
